To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the theatrical release of the first installment of Peter Jackson's trilogy, the Monnaie de Paris will present in 2026 a collection of precious gold and silver coins dedicated to the legendary saga of The Lord of the Rings. From the Shire to Mordor, the perilous epic of the Fellowship of the Ring is now engraved in metal, celebrating a mythical saga that has become a true pillar of the fantasy genre.
In Rivendell, the paths of Middle-earth converge at a decisive moment. Peoples of diverse origins and destinies gather around Frodo, united by a common need: to destroy the One Ring. From this encounter, a fragile but determined alliance is born to banish darkness from the land of men.
The Fellowship of the Ring takes shape in this precarious balance between hope and danger. Each member joins the group, aware of the danger, leaving their own world behind.
The reverse of this coin features the face value surrounded by two branches, one oak and the other laurel, reminiscent of the euro symbol. The entire reverse design is framed by the inscription "République Française" and a series of lines representing the outline of France.
